Text messaging for nutrition information

I thought this was a really cool idea, you can text DIET1 (34381) for nutrition information when you are eating out. DIET.com has set up a free service (except for whatever your provider charges for text messages) that gives you info on foods from chain restaurants. Just send a text to DIET1 (34381) with the name of the restaurant, menu item, and size (if appropriate). A few seconds later, you'll get a text back with the calorie count and number of grams of fat, carbs, and protein. You can even start your text with the word points to get the number of Weight Watchers points in a given food. (Get more information at diet.com/mobile.)

Food cravings

I don't really find that I have strong food cravings now. It is so nice to be freed from the constant cravings. When I do get a craving now, I remember how powerful my food craving used to be.

Not only the frequency of my cravings stopped, but the type of food I crave has changed. Lately, I've had a craving for an apple and peanut butter. Never would I have a craving for something as healthy as an apple. I finally got to the supermarket tonight and bought some apples to satifsy my craving. I can't wait for snack time! :)

Oatmeal with peanut butter

I have a great new meal idea that I love. I have to thank my physical therapist for this idea. I cooked some oatmeal (I've used McCann's Irish Oatmeal). Once the oatmeal is done, I add some peanut butter and equal. I find that it is quite delicious and quite filling! I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to pass the idea along.
